Into the heart of it...

This morning we had the amazing opportunity to get out and walk through the open market district of Kakinada and get a better feel of the scents of the city…

The mixture of aromas was as vast as the colors that filled the streets;
from the fresh smell of spices and vegetables, to raw fish and chicken,
they've got it all...

before...
after...

The smells didn't stop there though,
as we can't forget about the cows that roam the streets...

as well as what they leave behind...
poor Kaitlin!!

Nothing like a good foot washing to get rid of cow dung...

And then there's the open sewer too...

Here are a few other things to purchase at the market...

powdered chalk for Sophie

cigars, freshly rolled
From the market, we got to take turns on the back of Pradeep's motorcycle;
it's a whole different world driving in amongst the traffic on the back of a bike!!

During the afternoon, we had a chance to meet all the House Pastors who are a part
of Joyful Journeys Ministry.  They are a wonderful group of men and women who
have chosen to bring the love of Jesus into neighboring villages...

We took turns encouraging them with our individual testimony's...

By late afternoon, it was time for fun and games with the orphans,
as well as Sophie's Sweet Treats...

We ended our day at one of the Cutting and Tailoring Centers in a village close by.
There are currently 15 women enrolled in this one particular class session, and
they all share one sewing machine.  As they humbly made their request for
another machine so that there would be two between them all,
I wished I had the means to supply them each with one.
So here's an "fyi" for anyone interested, a machine is $125.

Another rewarding day seeing how Joyful Journeys Ministries is
empowering the people of India!!
I feel blessed to be a part of this all.

Namaste'
