India Trip - We’re giving it another try!

 

Well, it's almost 7 months to the day, that a group of 8 of us were scheduled to leave for India...if you're not familiar with how that played out, take a moment to read my previous post. 😔 

Here's to giving it another go...

This time around the number of travelers has been cut in half, which also means so has the amount of "stuff" we're able to carry over, but nevertheless, we're strong in spirit and ready to give it another go! (Our pups might feel otherwise, but they'll be in good hands! 💖🐶🐶💖)

A special "shout out" to previous fellow traveler Lora and her place of employment, HDI, for shipping some of the excess so it will be ready for us to distribute when we get there!

My travel companions for this trip will be my two daughters, Johanna and Sophie, along with our dear friend Alan. For Jo, Sophie and me, it will be our 6th trek over, for Alan, his second. It's funny though, even though we've been there numerous times before, it almost seems like our first trip since it's been six years since we were last there. Previously, when we were going every few years, we had gotten to know many of the students and hostel children, and enjoyed seeing how they changed with each new visit, however, many of the kids we knew back in 2020 have moved along in life, so essentially we're starting fresh. In regards to the family though, we are truly looking forward to reconnecting with loved ones and meeting new members! Oh, the excitement of it all! 💗

Our "joyful journey" will start on Wednesday afternoon and we are scheduled to reach our final destination midafternoon on Friday. With a trip of that caliber, we give thanks for audiobooks, mindless games, snacks, and the opportunity to catch up on sleep as it's been a long six months for us!! 😉
